The Rite Film Rocked- By: Chris Kickzme

Description : New Line Pictures presented a new thriller/horror motion picture "The Rite" into movie theaters last month. I checked it out,and it was wonderful. It featured a large amount of intense exorcism scenes with acting legend Anthony Hopkins. The flick features: Anthony Hopkins, Colin O'Donoghue, Alice Braga, Ciaran Hinds, and Rutger Hauer.

The movie centered around two gentlemen named Michael Kovak and Father Lucas Trevant . Michael is an up and coming North american Priest that has problems with his own faith in God. He has a tough time believing that the Devil exist together with these so-called Demonic possessions. The film would oftentimes show flashbacks to Michael's earlier childhood days where he first formed his faith difficulties when his father died.

Michael ultimately travels to Italy to review exorcism with Father Lucas because his United states teacher concluded he needed to acquire some "hands on" knowledge about exorcism considering that he doubted it a great deal. In just a few minutes after his arrival at Lucas' place,he gets introduced to his first actual exorcism with a girl who's pregnant and goes in and out of possessions.

Inspite of such real proof of possession,Michael still discloses doubt in the religion. The girl spits out nails, blood, her voice switches to a crazy demonic voice, she evolves into a severe contortionist, and all other kinds of strange stuff, but Michael still swears she just has to see a psychiatrist.

Ultimately, Michael starts struggling with major challenges because of odd dreams he's been having about his dead dad. Father Lucas tries to help him out with his problems. However, Michael gets his questioning faith put to the supreme test when the demon possesses someone he never thought it would possess, and if Michael doesn't get some faith swiftly, his life and other's existance are in trouble.

Michael and his significant other present in the room during the possession, and things get pretty rough. Finally, with his back up against the wall,Michael is pushed to deal with his belief issues and problems with God to fight what is preparing to eliminate him. The closing was pretty intense and had me on the edge of my seat.

I thought overall, the show was really entertaining and fascinating. Unfortunately, there was some slow, methodical moments during the movie in which I found myself dosing off a bit, however, when things sped up,they truly got going in a substantial way. It featured a considerable amount of "can't miss," intense moments. The exorcism scenes were fairly troubling and persuading. I gave the film a B rating.
